Keep track of your NICU baby with one hand, at three in the morning.
Once you're home from neonatal care, the counting is yours: how much he drank, what went down the tube, when the last dirty diaper was. Hidje is the notebook for that, shared between your phone and your partner's.

Who it's for
For parents carrying on at home after the NICU
Your baby arrived early or spent a long time in neonatal care, and now you're home. The care hasn't stopped, but the monitors and the nurses' handover sheet have. Hidje was made for those months.
- NICU and special care
- You already know feeding plans and weigh-ins. Hidje speaks the same language: ml per feed, ml per kg per day, hours between feeds. When the plan changes, you change the defaults.
- Tube feeding
- For each feed you enter how much your baby took by mouth. Hidje works out what went through the tube, so you can see the oral share grow from day to day and week to week.
- Corrected age
- Actual age and corrected age always sit side by side. Growth is plotted on the Fenton chart and then the WHO chart, and development follows the Dutch Van Wiechen milestones by corrected age.
How it works
Three screens, and that's it
A feed, a diaper or a nap takes one or two taps. The usual amount is already filled in, and the save button sits at the bottom where your thumb is. Tapped the wrong thing? Every entry can be undone straight away.

Now
One tile per thing you track, showing the last entry and how long ago it was. Below that, today so far: total ml, wet and dirty diapers, sleep, medication ticked off. If your partner logged something while you slept, it's at the top.

Day
Everything from one day in order, with the time and who logged it. Tap a line to fix the time or the amount. Useful when the community nurse asks how the night went.

Patterns
Charts over 7, 14 or 30 days: ml per day, the share taken by mouth, sleep, diapers and weight on the growth chart. Before an appointment, make a report you can print or bring as a PDF.
Family
Family can follow along, on your terms
Your partner
You each have your own account and see the same thing. What one of you logs shows up for the other within seconds. After time away, you see at a glance what happened in the meantime.
Grandparents and others
With a family code they can follow along without an account. They see an album, not a medical record.
They can see
- photos of the day
- milestones you share
- recorded sounds
- weight and growth
They can't see
- feeds and tube feeds
- diapers and sleep
- medication
- notes and questions for the doctor
Any photo or milestone can be kept private. You can remove a viewer in the app, and a new family code makes the old one stop working.
Privacy
What happens to your data
Information about your baby belongs to you. So we keep it simple:
- Stored in the EU
- The database and photos live in a data centre in Frankfurt, Germany.
- No ads
- There are no ads in the app and we don't sell anything on.
- No tracking
- No analytics or trackers, in the app or on this site.
- Delete it yourself
- Under More → Account you delete your account and all its data with one tap and a confirmation. You can download a backup first.
- Family sees only what you share
- Viewers see photos, milestones, sounds and growth, and nothing you've marked private.
The full details are in the privacy policy.
Who we are
Made by Pim and Femke
Our son was born in the summer of 2026 at 27 weeks and 6 days. On the unit we wrote down what we could: in a notebook, on scraps of paper, in the notes app on our phones. When he came home twelve weeks later, with a nasal tube and a feeding plan, we wanted all of it in one place.
That became Hidje. At first it was only for us, on two phones next to the cot. Everything in it is something we use every day. Anything we didn't need, we left out.
We're parents, not doctors. Hidje shows what you put in and doesn't give medical advice. If you're unsure, call your doctor or the unit.

Questions
Common questions
What does Hidje cost?
Nothing. The app is free and has no ads. Hidje Plus is coming soon: a one-off purchase for people who want more, with a photo book as a PDF, unlimited family viewers and extra themes. What you use now stays free.
Does it work on iPhone?
Not as an App Store app yet. The web app at app.hidje.app opens in any modern browser, but we mainly test on Android.
Does it work without internet?
Yes. Anything you log while offline is kept on your phone and sent as soon as you're back online. A small dot at the top shows when something is still waiting.
Can I use it for a baby born at term?
Yes, everything works. Corrected age and the Fenton chart simply have nothing extra to show. It was built with premature babies in mind, though.
Does Hidje give medical advice?
No. Hidje shows what you enter and puts it in order. For a diaper colour that needs attention there is one fixed line: contact your doctor. That's all. See also not medical advice.
Can I take my data with me?
Yes. Under More you can download a backup with all entries and photos, and from Patterns you can export a period as a CSV file for a spreadsheet.
I have a different question.
Have a look at the help page or email support@hidje.app. One of us will reply.
